The Assertive Outreach Program provides culturally safe, hands-on support to community members facing challenges such as homelessness, social isolation, and access to essential services. The Assertive Outreach Program supports young people aged 18–30 years who are experiencing hardship, housing instability, or barriers to accessing essential services. The program provides flexible, person-centred outreach to help participants build stability, independence, and wellbeing.
Our team works alongside young people in the community, meeting them where they are and providing regular, practical support across key areas of life, including:
+ Mental health support – connection to counselling, social and emotional wellbeing services, and ongoing check-ins
+ Physical health support – assistance accessing health care, appointments, and healthy lifestyle supports
+ Education and employment support – help with re-engaging in education, training, or work pathways
+ Centrelink assistance – support with applications, reporting, appointments, and understanding entitlements
The program takes a strengths-based and culturally safe approach. Priority is given to Aboriginal young people who would benefit from consistent outreach and advocacy to maintain stability and independence.
Marnbi Aboriginal Corporations outreach team meets people where they are in the community offering guidance, referrals, and practical help that strengthens independence and wellbeing.
